Drop-in with Ash, Play Therapist

These sessions are an opportunity to have a safe and confidential space to chat about anything that feels tricky or uncertain for your child at the moment — big or small. You don't need to be in crisis to come along; sometimes it simply helps to talk something through with someone who understands child development and behaviour from a professional perspective.

Topics might include — but are certainly not limited to:

  • Transition to new school year
  • Self-esteem
  • Anger and frustration
  • Managing big feelings
  • Tearfulness
  • Separation anxiety
  • Low confidence
  • Social struggles
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Gaming / social media queries
  • Withdrawing from family life
  • Behaviour that can be challenging
  • ASD, ADHD and neurodivergence
  • Parental separation
  • Having difficult conversations
  • Worries about the summer ahead

Within the session, Ash can offer a safe, non-judgemental space to talk and reflect, practical strategies tailored to your child and your family, child development theory and knowledge, where this is helpful or signposting to further resources and specialist support

If you feel it would be beneficial for your child to be part of the conversation, they are welcome to attend with you.

Sessions are completely confidential. No referral is needed — simply drop in. Please book in using the School Gateway app.

Sessions are 45 minutes and are available every Monday at 9am, Tuesdays 2.30pm, and Friday at 9am.
