“The only one who can tell you ‘you can’t win’ is you and you don’t have to listen.”

At Burscough Village Primary School, we aspire that all children, regardless of their sporting attributes or abilities, will enjoy the passion, fun and excitement of physical exercise.  Through well-structured, meaningful lessons and a full range of extra-curricular activities and competitions, pupils are given the opportunity to develop a love of sport.

The curriculum is planned in accordance with the Lancashire Professional Development Service guidance, known as the PE Passport. The curriculum is then split in to half terms in which a unit of work (approximately 6 lessons) is delivered to the children weekly (two one-hour slots).  Throughout the unit children are challenged in various ways from the development of individual skills, paired work and group/team performances.  At the end of each unit, using the PE Passport App, teachers assess the progress of pupils against various objectives.
