Welcome to The Village Nursery - Here, little feet take big step and ‘Striving for the future ‘begins with curiosity, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.

Our nursery builds on the exceptional reputation of our school based provision for 3-4 years , offering families a warm, nurturing environment led by highly experienced staff. Parents consistently tell us that our school has a feel, a sense of care, calm and belonging that you notice the moment you walk through the door. Our nursery extends that same ethos to our youngest children.

What makes The Village Nursery different?

Experienced, Specialist staff
Our teams brings a depth pf expertise rarely found in early years settings. Children benefit from practitioners who understand child development deeply and who create responsive learning experiences every day.

A Strong Focus on Physical Development

We prioritise fundamental movement skills-balance, co ordination, strength, and confidence, because everything from early writing to emotional regulation. Children learn through movement, exploration and joyful physical play.

A nurturing, family feel

Relationships come first. Every child is known, valued, and supported. Our environment is calm, warm and emotionally safe, something families consistently recognise and appreciate.

A seamless pathway into school

As part our wider school community, children benefit from smooth, secure transition into our ¾ nursery and beyond. They grow in a familiar environment with consistent expectations, routines and values. No transition or settling in. Stability.

Striving for future

Our school’s vision – Striving for the future-shapes everything we do. We help children take their first steps with curiosity, confidence and joy, laying the foundations for lifetime of learning.

Step Into Quality

In July 2022, we successfully renewed our Lancashire Step into Quality award. The Lancashire Quality Award is underpinned by the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Quality Improvement Principles. The accreditation involved whole team reflection on provision and practice, across eight ‘steps’, which have had a positive impact on the setting and also staff development.

Eight Steps:

  • Indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Routines
  • Interactions
  • The keyperson approach
  • Partnership with parents
  • Leadership and management
  • Learning and development
  • Transitions
