Welcome To Year 3!
The members of staff working in Year 3 are:

- Mrs. Rice (teaching assistant)
We are also very lucky to have lots of fantastic helpers throughout the week, such as: Mr Scarisbrick, Mrs Sadgrove, Miss McDougall and Mrs Hodgson! If you would like to come into Year 3 and help us, please speak to Mr Powell!
In Year 3 we do lots of fun and challenging activities to help us learn new things!
Summer Term
Our topic for the summer term is Brilliant Burscough, as part of our topic we will be looking at the geographical features of Burscough (both human and physical). To help us to develop our geographical understanding of Burscough, we will be going on lots of trips out within our local area throughout the term. We will also be historical detectives and investigate how Burscough has changed over time, especially since key events in local history, such as; the building of the canal, the introduction of the railways and the introduction of electricity. In Design Technology, we will be creating our own models of 1930s living rooms. In Art, we will be creating our own maps, collages of Burscough and our own canal artwork for the barges.

Spring Term
Our topic for the Spring term is Wacky Weather and we will be learning about extreme weather conditions and how they affect people in different parts of the world. We will also link our topic to other areas of the curriculum - in Literacy we will be writing weather reports and create our own weather shape poems. In Music we will be creating our own weather music and in our PE lessons we will be creating a weather dance to accompany our musical composition! In Art, we will be creating our own weather paintings and in Design & Technology we will be creating our own weather gauges to help us record the weather in our local environment. We will then use our data handling skills in Maths to input this data into a graph.
