School Counsellor

We have a counselling therapist who is in school every Thursday morning, 9.00 am-12.00 pm.

The first session of the day, 9.00-9.30am is allocated for parents who would like to access emotional support for themselves. The rest of the morning is for children who benefit from this support. This might be something that the school has identified or concerns or issues that parents would like their child to receive support for.

The counselling sessions can only be provided for those children with who we have a prior agreement and signed parental consent. All counselling sessions are confidential and will only be shared with staff or parents if there are safeguarding concerns as with all counselling services.

We, at Burscough Village Primary School, promote talking about your worries with the children and we are hoping the counselling therapy will offer additional support for families who need it.
