The Lancashire Bread House Visit - Year 2
This term the Year 2 children's topic is 'The Great Fire of London' and what better way to understand how the fire started by visiting the local bakery - The Lancashire Bread House.
The children went in small groups throughout the day and spent time learning about different baking techniques and how bread is made. The children all got the opportunity to knead some bread dough and were all kindly treated to a gingerbread to eat at home.
A big thank you to the team at 'The Lancashire Bread House' for supporting the school and offering the children this amazing experience.
Once back at school the children spent time discussing all the different baking techniques and are now busy writing about the experience.
